Women and IP: Accelerating innovation and creativity
Women and IP: Accelerating innovation and creativity
For generations, women have shaped our world with their ingenuity and creativity. Women everywhere are driving scientific breakthroughs, setting new creative trends, building businesses and transforming our world.
In 2023, we celebrate the “can do” attitude of women inventors, creators and entrepreneurs around the world and their ground-breaking work.
Women in all regions are shaping the world through their imagination, ingenuity and hard work, but often face significant challenges in accessing the knowledge, skills, resources and support they need to thrive.
The 2023 World Intellectual Property campaign is an opportunity to celebrate all talented women around the world and promote the development of more inclusive and diverse IP ecosystems that accelerate innovation, creativity and business growth for the benefit of all.

IFIA has always tried to determine the role that intellectual property rights represent in encouraging and inspiring innovation and creativity for building a better future, and has always been committed to those intentions.
For such a purpose, and also representing Green Inventions, IFIA has put all of 190 of its members on the agenda to have an important impact on the implementation of this approach with the innovative challenges faced by the world. These challenges are the things that could threaten humanity in the years to come; such as global warming, climate change, lack of natural resources, and pollution concerns and we hope to make a better future for human beings by green inventions, recycling, and taking care of the environment, sustainable development, etc.
Society is made up of both males and females sharing equal responsibility and talent to contribute toward its development and promotion. Women’s innovative talent has been realized throughout history by their active engagement in different sectors of society.
Since its inception, IFIA has paid special attention to women as an important part of society, and for this reason, in 1977, by awarding the first honorary membership to a female Nobel Prize winner, IFIA proved this claim to be reality.
Since 1996, IFIA has further honored this influential group by forming the Women Inventors Network.
