The IFIA Memoranda of Understanding represent an important part of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations’ efforts to strengthen international cooperation. Through institutional agreements and cooperation arrangements, IFIA has developed relationships with inventor associations, universities, research institutions, intellectual property organizations, and innovation partners worldwide.
These agreements provide frameworks for knowledge exchange, educational cooperation, technological development, and international networking. They also reflect IFIA’s commitment to supporting inventors and encouraging innovation across different countries and sectors.
The Purpose of IFIA Memoranda of Understanding
The primary purpose of IFIA Memoranda of Understanding is to encourage cooperation between organizations that share an interest in invention, creativity, research, and innovation.
Depending on the specific agreement, cooperation may address professional training, invention exhibitions, intellectual property awareness, technology transfer, entrepreneurship, or research collaboration.
Each memorandum has its own objectives, conditions, and implementation arrangements. The existence of a historical agreement does not necessarily indicate that the cooperation remains active today.
International Agreements with Innovation Organizations
IFIA’s published cooperation records include agreements and initiatives involving organizations such as WIPO GREEN, the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA), the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI).
