About the Department
The IFIA BRICS Department was established within the framework of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) to strengthen innovation cooperation between IFIA’s global network and BRICS and BRICS+ countries, while creating new international opportunities for inventors, innovators, researchers, experts, and IFIA member organizations.
The Department serves as a strategic international platform connecting inventors, universities, research institutions, innovation organizations, industry, experts, and technology partners across IFIA and BRICS ecosystems. Its activities focus on science, technology, innovation, education, intellectual property, technology transfer, international standards, and the development of collaborative innovation projects.
Through cooperation with the BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (Xiamen) and other relevant institutions, the Department promotes technology innovation competitions, international skills and technical standards, expert cooperation, research partnerships, exhibitions, training programs, and opportunities for the international development and commercialization of innovative technologies.

A major priority of the Department is to create tangible opportunities for IFIA members worldwide. These include participation in BRICS-related competitions and international events, access to expert and institutional networks, involvement in standardization initiatives, development of joint scientific and technological projects, and connections with emerging innovation ecosystems across BRICS and BRICS+ countries.
