This event was held under the name of “AZAD UNIVERSITY INVENTIONS FESTIVAL“and “FAJR invention festival”. It is one of the most outstanding innovation specialized exhibitions known in the Middle East, a forum for transmitting innovation and invention culture to society members, and an attempt to create a relationship between innovators and inventors and the economic companies and corporations to transform the IRAN community into a knowledge-based society.
The achievements of this festival signify the importance of the exhibition’s mission. World Intellectual Property Day
Most people know well about intellectual property, patents, industrial prototypes and sketches, copyrights, and trademarks, but they still perceive such things as ordinary legal and commercial matters and have nothing to do with their daily life. To narrow this gap, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) decided to establish the World Intellectual Property Day on 26th April of each year. This day was chosen as this was the date on which the convention establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization entered into force in 1970.
The event is organized each year to raise awareness about the importance of the intellectual property. In 2008, 59 member countries participated in the World Intellectual Property Day. Iran also took part in that event as a country concerned with the dissemination of intellectual property culture in society.
General Objectives of the World Intellectual Property Day
- Raise awareness of how patents, copyrights, trademarks, industrial prototypes, and designs affect our daily life.
- Promote the awareness of intellectual property protection and its impact on supporting innovation and invention activities.
- Celebrate creativity and the contribution of innovators in the development of societies across the globe
- Encourage respect for the intellectual property rights of others.
