IFIA President’s Message on International Women’s Day

On behalf of International Federation of Inventor’s Associations (IFIA), I would like to join the rest of international community and extend my sincere congratulations on the occasion of International Women’s Day .

From the very beginning of the history, women have exerted enormous influences in the fields of invention, innovation, science, technology, and design and women inventors certainly devote a large proportion of the positive changes enriching the societies.

However, women have encountered obstacles for their equal participation in all aspects of society, particularly in the field of invention and technology. To reduce the gender gap, IFIA cooperates with the member states in the organization of women-oriented activities such as Korea International Women’s Invention Exposition to realize their creativity and learn how to apply them in industry.

To respect women rights and their empowerment, IFIA defines the theme of “Global Equality” in order to encourage the members for realizing and honoring the extraordinary works that women have done and the major role that they have played in the history of the world.
