Successful Outcome for IPITEx on Thailand Inventors’ Day 2026
“Unlock Thailand – Power of Invention and Innovation”
The 27th Thailand Inventors’ Day 2026, organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and supported by the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), was successfully held from January 5–9, 2026 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangna, Bangkok, Thailand. Under the theme “Unlock Thailand – Power of Invention and Innovation” the event combined national celebration with international collaboration, showcasing inventions, research, and technological solutions across multiple sectors.
Grand Opening Ceremony
The official opening ceremony took place on January 5, 2026, led by Mr. Surasak Phancharoenworakul, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), who highlighted Thailand’s commitment to fostering research, innovation, and global collaboration. Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Executive Director of NRCT, welcomed participants and emphasized NRCT’s role in supporting inventors and promoting creativity. Senior officials from MHESI, national research agencies, universities, and innovation institutions also attended.
International delegations from 23 countries and representatives from IFIA, the global supporter of the event, were present, reinforcing IPITEx 2026’s status as an international platform for knowledge exchange and innovation collaboration
Domestic and International Innovation Showcase
The event showcased over 1,000 inventive projects, covering areas such as AI, robotics, sustainability, medical technology, and smart solutions, presented by inventors from Thai universities, research institutes, and industry.
IPITEx 2026 featured more than 800 projects from inventors representing 23 countries, promoting cross-border collaboration and the exchange of expertise. The involvement of IFIA underscored the international importance of the event and facilitated partnerships between Thai inventors and the global innovation community.
Youth Innovation – I New Gen Competitions
A highlight of the event was the Thailand New Gen Inventors Award (I–New Gen Award 2026) and I–New Gen Junior Award 2026, providing young innovators from primary, secondary, vocational, and university levels with a platform to present their projects.
These competitions offered mentorship, industry exposure, and networking opportunities, inspiring students to engage with both national and international experts. Projects were recognized for contributions in AI, robotics, sustainability, medical technology, and smart devices, demonstrating Thailand’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of inventors.
Award Ceremony and IFIA Participation
The IPITEx Award Ceremony, held on January 9, 2026, recognized outstanding contributions from both Thai and international inventors. Dr. Wiparat De-ong and Mr. Alireza Rastegar, President of IFIA, presided over the ceremony. Mr. Rastegar delivered a keynote speech, congratulating inventors and emphasizing IPITEx as a major international innovation platform that fosters cooperation and knowledge exchange.
Awards presented included NRCT Special Awards, IFIA Medals, International Delegations Special Awards, and Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals across multiple categories.
IFIA Best Invention Award winners included:
- Anuj Chandalia (India) for the invention “MANENTIA-Ct Lung AI”
- Prof. Dr. Arsanchai Sukkuea, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pensiri Akkajit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wattanapong Kurdthongmee, Thanaphat Chainarong, Danich Khawngam, Phichaipusit Thirakun (Thailand) for the invention “Life Buoy Launching Device for Drowning Rescue”
In total, inventors from 22 countries were recognized for their contributions, demonstrating the global reach and excellence of IPITEx 2026.
