DEF-TECH Bharat 2026: Innovation-Led Defence Technology Showcase with IFIA Bharat as Strategic Partner
New Delhi, India – December 29, 2025
DEF-TECH Bharat 2026, India’s flagship exhibition dedicated to defence, aerospace, and space technologies, will be held from May 20 to May 22, 2026, at the Karnataka Trade Promotion Organization (KTPO), Whitefield, Bengaluru. The three-day international event will convene global defence leaders, innovators, policymakers, industry executives, and representatives of armed forces to showcase and discuss next-generation strategic technologies.
Over recent editions, DEF-TECH Bharat has established itself as a premier international platform for advancing innovation in defence design, development, and system integration across air, land, sea, and space domains. The 2026 edition is expected to attract engineers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), tier-1 suppliers, senior decision-makers from both public and private sectors, and defence force representatives, underscoring the event’s growing strategic importance and global reach.
A major highlight of DEF-TECH Bharat 2026 is its strategic partnership with IFIA Bharat, the Indian chapter of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA). This collaboration places innovation and invention at the core of the exhibition, with a strong emphasis on inventor-led solutions, intellectual property development, deep-tech startups, and research-driven defence capabilities. The partnership closely aligns with India’s long-term national objectives in strengthening indigenous innovation and advancing technological self-reliance.
The exhibition will feature a comprehensive show floor with over 200 exhibitors from India and more than a dozen other countries, presenting cutting-edge defence and aerospace systems, products, and solutions. Key focus areas will include autonomous and unmanned systems, secure communication networks, electronic warfare technologies, advanced sensor platforms, artificial intelligence–enabled decision-support systems, and next-generation battlefield solutions, reflecting the rapid digital and technological transformation of the defence sector.

Innovation will remain a central theme throughout the event, with dedicated zones and curated tracks highlighting indigenous technologies, inventor contributions, and startup-driven solutions designed to address current operational needs and future warfare scenarios. These initiatives aim to bridge the gap between research laboratories, startups, and end users, fostering co-development and collaboration among innovators, industry stakeholders, and defence organizations.
Alongside the exhibition, DEF-TECH Bharat 2026 will host a robust program of strategic conferences, panel discussions, and technical sessions focused on emerging threats, evolving security challenges, and new opportunities in defence and aerospace. IFIA Bharat’s participation will further enrich discussions on innovation ecosystems, intellectual property strategy, technology transfer, dual-use technologies, and effective pathways to accelerate the commercialization of defence innovations.
Commenting on the significance of the event, Anand Kannan, National Director of IFIA Bharat, emphasized that DEF-TECH Bharat is being positioned as a key networking and collaboration hub for the defence sector. The platform will provide exhibitors and delegates with opportunities to engage directly with defence manufacturing companies, government agencies, research institutions, and armed forces representatives, with the aim of promoting international cooperation and strengthening domestic defence capabilities.
Shailesh Shukla, Organizer of DEF-TECH Bharat, noted that India’s defence industry has experienced sustained growth, driven by national initiatives such as Atmanirbhar Bharat and continued investment in indigenous defence technologies. He highlighted that India’s defence exports have increased significantly over the past decade, and platforms like DEF-TECH Bharat play a critical role in showcasing “Made in India” innovations to global stakeholders. Industry leaders and officials widely regard the event as an important enabler for strengthening defence ecosystems and fostering innovation amid evolving geopolitical and security challenges.
As India consolidates its position as a key player in global defence manufacturing and advanced technologies, DEF-TECH Bharat 2026, with IFIA Bharat as a strategic partner, is expected not only to spotlight breakthrough innovations but also to catalyze meaningful partnerships and innovation-led collaborations that will shape the future of defence and security in India and internationally.
