13th AGRO ARCA Was Successfully Held in Prelog Croatia
AGRO ARCA 2022 Report
The 13th International Fair of Innovations in Agriculture, Food Industry and Agricultural mechanization AGRO ARCA 2022, organized by the Croatian Union of Innovators, was held in the City of Prelog from May 13 to 15, 2022.
This year’s AGRO ARCA took part under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Education, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, while the partners were the Faculty of Agriculture, HAMAG-BICRO, Chamber of Crafts of Međimurje County, Medimurje County, Sibenik-Knin County and Gorican Municipality.
The co-organizers of the fair were the Croatian Association of Technical Culture and IFIA (International Federation of Associations of Innovators) and the fair was sponsored by many local companies.
AGRO ARCA pays attention, especially to innovations in agriculture, which contribute to the competitiveness of production and processing of agricultural and food products, as well as environmentally friendly and energy-efficient agriculture.

As part of the opening ceremony, the audience was greeted by prof. dr. sc. Miljenko Simpraga, President of the Croatian Union of Innovators, and Tugomir Majdak, State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, envoy of the PM of the Republic of Croatia. The President of the Croatian Association of Innovators, Miljenko Simpraga, underlined the importance of innovation in agriculture and emphasized the synergy of all stakeholders in cooperation with the academic community.
The fair gathered 127 exhibitors from 11 countries as well as numerous local farm owners and small producers. As part of this year’s AGRO ARCA, numerous workshops and forums were held, among which the Innovation Forum on “Youth in Agriculture” attracted special attention in the first day.
From the numerous workshops aimed at youth, creative workshops were held for the participants of the kindergarten “There is no greater happiness than a bird that flies carefree in nature”, which was enjoyed by more then 60 preschool children.
As part of the Archimedes program of the Croatian Association of Innovators, workshops “Measurement of soil moisture and temperature” and “LegoWeDo” were held for primary and secondary school students.
On the sidelines of the Fair, a drone piloting training was organized by the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varazdin.
The county competition of the Modeling League “Today the little, tomorrow the great master – Modeling League 2022” was held during the event as well.
During the two days of the fair, the traditional Innovation Forum called “Youth in Agriculture” also took place.
At the award ceremony that marked the focus of the fair, awards in two categories were presented: young innovators and senior innovators.
Grand Prix AGRO ARCA 2022, the award for the best innovation of the AGRO ARCA 2022 fair was given to the innovation:
AUTONOMOUS CATAMARAN FOR MARICULTURE, created by Nadir Kapetanovic, Djula Nadj, Nikica Kokir, Martin Orec, Kristijan Krcmar, and Nikola Misković from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, Croatia.
