Participants
Alireza Rastegar, IFIA President, summoned the members and thanked them for their participation. Koray Sahin, President of the Anatolian Inventions and Inventors Association (ABDER) warmly welcomed the participants to Istanbul and gave a souvenir to all of them. He expressed the hope to continue to cooperate closely with IFIA and the members. IFIA President thanked him for the support in hosting IFIA Executive Committee meeting in Istanbul and the hospitality provided.
Orjan Strandberg, representing Cenneth Nilsson, delivered a summary of the activities that were coordinated for the organization of IFIA World Congress during 25 and 26 August. He reported on the number of lecturers, international speakers, governmental authorities and the media. He complained about the indifference of the government toward the inventors and the absence of TV during the congress to run a story on this event. He also pointed out the huge difference between the position of researchers and inventors in the society. While the former one is highly appreciated, the latter is ignored.
Afterwards, the procedures implemented for the TTC project were delineated. The application forms designed for both the inventors and the associations demanding to be the national nodes in order to coordinate between the TTC and the inventors were presented. The activities performed in this regard shall be presented in the General Assembly for the final approval.
IFIA’s partnership with Global Inventions, an international marketing organization, was noted by Alireza Rastegar. It was explained that IFIA – GI cooperation under the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding was established to facilitate the commercialization of inventions. Thereafter, the marketing request of IFIA members would be tested through GI major retailers in 38 countries.
Alireza Rastegar referred to the memorandum of Understanding signed between IFIA and International Journal of Scientific Research and Publications as one of the international publishers. It was underlined that the articles or research findings in the field of invention and innovation can be published in this website free of charge.
Alirza Rastegar was pleased to inform the EC of the collaboration between IFIA and SkyQuest Technology Group, as a Global IP focused research accelerator and commercialization organization.
Alireza Rastegar brought the EC Members attention to the cooperation established between IFIA and UN ESCAP Innovation and Competitiveness Task Force to bring in new solutions for the humanity grand challenges and accelerate commercialization of high impact innovations.
Alireza Rastegar was pleased to inform that IFIA had been registered in International Geneva and recognized as one of the key NGOs acting under the Swiss law.
EC Members were provided with a report of the difficulties faced by IFIA to open a bank account due to the problems caused by the previous president. Alireza Rastegar informed the EC Members that after receiving the tax-exemption certificate, it would be possible to open the account.
The events already approved by the EC members were presented for the final review.
The activities accomplished within one year after Alireza Rastegar Presidency were provided to the EC members.
Two documents describing the requirements that the Executive Committee and directors must meet to be elected were provided to the participants.
Finally EC thanked the President for all of the initiatives that have been taken to improve IFIA status. | ||
