A Landmark Event for Medical and Health Innovation
Xiamen, China March 2, 2025 – From February 28 to March 2, 2025, the Belt and Road Initiative and BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition in the field of Medicine and Health took place successfully at the BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Research Institute in Xiamen. This event also marked significant progress in the formulation of competition regulations and standards and the establishment of the International Training Base for Future Technical Skills and Cultural Exchange Talents (BRICS Workshop). The event commenced with an insightful keynote address by Dr. Liu Zhenying, setting a forward-thinking tone for the conference.


During the annual meeting of the Medicine and Health Committee under the Belt and Road Initiative and BRICS Skills Development International Alliance, key achievements of 2024 in the field of medical and health competitions were reviewed and recognized.
Additionally, the meeting facilitated the initiation of new subcommittees dedicated to advancing the sector. The Medicine and Health Committee, along with its subcommittees, outlined strategic plans for 2025, focusing on:
• Competition regulations and curriculum development,
• BRICS skill standardization,
• International exchanges and industry-academia collaboration,
• The globalization of vocational education.
Extensive discussions were conducted on the preliminary competition regulations for the 2025 Medicine and Health events, with substantial improvements and refinements made accordingly. The event fostered an atmosphere of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and innovation, reinforcing the commitment to mutual development.
