The Inventors Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIBIH) was founded on June 24, 1994, with the main aim of reconstruction of the country, destroyed by the war 1992-1995.

Extracts From The Statutes (in force since 2002), Article 7.

a) The Association assembles and stimulates members to create inventions, collectively or individually, with the purpose to develop techniques, technologies, new materials, and other material goods, thus contributing towards the improvement of the living conditions in their own communities, as well as worldwide

b) The Association encourages, helps and instructs its members to search the state-of-the-art pertaining to their fields, to look into what their own patent rights might be and to estimate the commercial potential of their inventions

c) The Association helps its members to prepare patent applications, technical drawings, and prototypes in order to protect and realize the inventions

d) The Association spreads the culture of innovation among the citizens, primarily children, and youth, with the aim of promoting inventiveness as an intellectual activity, which unlike any other natural resource that wears off when used, further grows and spreads out when nurtured

e) The Association initiates the establishment of laws and other regulations in the Country with aims to ensure suitable conditions for the protection and realization of inventions

f) The Association stimulates and coordinates any activities that aim to establish or improve collaboration among its members

g) The Association initiates collaborations with similarly-minded associations at national and international level

h) The Association engages members in groups in order to provide solutions of technical-technological problems in their own milieus and ensures an equitable compensation

i) The Association establishes collaboration with Country’s administration, R&D institutes, educational and related institutions, home and worldwide, in order to accomplish the above aims

The Association is a full member of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations, IFIA and the Association of European Inventors, AEI.
