IEI 2026 significantly expanded its international dimension. The International Inventions area gathered inventors and projects from multiple countries, with the event as a whole bringing together participants from 35 countries and international organizations. A central feature of IEI 2026 was its focus on innovation that can contribute directly to industrial upgrading and the development of new quality productive forces. Technologies with practical application potential were given strong visibility, reflecting an increasing emphasis on inventions that can move beyond laboratory or prototype stages toward manufacturing, deployment and market adoption.

The program encouraged interaction among research institutions, universities, technology enterprises and industry specialists, supporting a broader innovation chain in which invention, intellectual property, technical validation, industrial demand and commercialization are considered together.

The “Belt & Road” and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (BRBC 2026) was held concurrently with IEI 2026. The competition created an international environment for skills exchange, technical problem-solving and the development of applied innovation capabilities among participants from Belt and Road and BRICS-related networks.

Together with the invention exhibition, BRBC 2026 strengthened the connection between technical skills, invention and workforce development, while providing participants with opportunities to exchange methods, compare solutions and engage with international innovation resources.

IEI 2026 also placed strong emphasis on the transformation and commercialization of innovative achievements. Two-way intellectual property project roadshows and matchmaking meetings were organized during the event to connect technology owners with potential partners, enterprises, institutions and commercialization resources.

The organizers introduced a more structured project-matching approach, including the selection of projects with potential relevance to industries in Guangzhou and the Greater Bay Area, followed by project presentations, dedicated roadshows and one-to-one discussions. This model supported technology cooperation, intellectual property transfer, investment dialogue and potential industrial implementation.

The closing program on August 23 recognized outstanding inventions and innovation achievements presented during the exhibition. International distinctions formed an important part of the awards program, reinforcing the global profile of participating inventors, research teams and technologies.

A highlight of the closing ceremony was the presentation of the IFIA Best Invention Award 2026. The International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) recognized three outstanding inventions for their inventive merit, technical significance and potential for real-world impact:

IFIA’s support for IEI 2026 reflects the Federation’s continuing commitment to strengthening international cooperation among inventors, invention associations and innovation organizations. With more than 3,700 inventions and innovation achievements, participation from 35 countries and international organizations, seven specialized exhibition areas, BRBC 2026, intellectual property matchmaking activities and a strong connection with the 34th Guangzhou Fair, IEI 2026 represented one of the major international invention gatherings held in China this year.

The event demonstrated how international invention exhibitions are evolving beyond traditional display and competition formats. Increasingly, they serve as platforms for technology transfer, international networking, skills development, intellectual property utilization, industry engagement and market-oriented cooperation.

KIWIE 2026 brought women inventors, entrepreneurs, researchers, and innovation leaders together in Seoul. The Korea International Women’s Invention Exposition ran from July 16 to 18, 2026. Its venue was The Platz Hall at COEX, Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Over three days, participants shared inventions and explored new ideas. They also exchanged knowledge about intellectual property and built links across borders. Together, these activities highlighted women’s contributions to technology, business, and society.

The Ministry of Intellectual Property (MOIP) hosted the event. Meanwhile, the Korea Women Inventors Association (KWIA) organized the program.

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) supported the event. The International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) also provided support.

The Korea International Women’s Invention Competition featured 591 inventions in 2026. Of these, 137 came from Korea and 454 came from 20 countries. In addition, the exhibition brought together 53 Korean companies.

Participants came from Azerbaijan, China, Croatia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Korea, Kuwait, Mongolia, and New Zealand. Other participants represented Peru, the Philippines, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, and Yemen.

By comparison, KIWIE 2025 featured 445 inventions from 16 countries. That total included 133 Korean inventions and 312 international entries. The rise to 591 inventions therefore showed strong growth, especially in international participation.

As a result, more women inventors could share their work on a global stage. They could also exchange expertise and make new professional contacts.

KIWIE 2026 offered more than an exhibition and competition. Its program included an opening ceremony, invention evaluations, and a welcome dinner. In addition, participants could attend intellectual property education sessions and the final awards ceremony.

The IP Leadership Academy for Global Women took place on July 17 at COEX. It added an educational focus to the event. Meanwhile, photographs in the official report document the opening ceremony, international gathering, academy sessions, and exhibition activities.

By combining learning with invention displays, KIWIE gives women innovators more than a place to show their work. It also helps them build knowledge and networks. These resources can help inventors protect their ideas and explore opportunities beyond the exhibition.

As a supporter of KIWIE 2026, IFIA continued its work to promote women in invention and innovation. Its mission includes helping talented inventors gain recognition across borders. In this way, IFIA seeks to widen access to a global audience.

In 2026, IFIA recognized four outstanding inventions with the IFIA Best Invention Medal. The awards highlighted the projects’ originality and potential impact.

The KIWIE 2026 Awards Ceremony took place on July 18 at Studio 159, COEX. During the ceremony, four innovators received IFIA medals. They represented the Republic of Korea, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

KIWIE 2026 brought together ideas from many countries and fields. In fact, 454 international inventions made up most of the competition’s 591 entries. This broad participation underlined the event’s global reach.

The IFIA medal winners also showed the range of challenges women inventors address. For example, the door-lock project focuses on practical engineering and ease of use. The DNA electrophoresis kit supports hands-on learning in forensic science.

Meanwhile, the photonic-layer project explores ways to improve solar energy harvesting. The wireless power system addresses another area of electrical and energy technology. Together, these projects show how women’s ideas span both daily needs and longer-term technical challenges.

KIWIE 2026 showed why support for women inventors matters. It helps more people share ideas and contribute to global innovation. Moreover, it connects recognition with learning and professional exchange.

With 591 inventions, the event highlighted the creativity and technical skills of women innovators worldwide. Intellectual property education also gave the program a practical focus beyond awards and displays.

A Smarter Way to Clean, Dry, and Protect Surfaces

Cleaning systems have changed very little over the past decades. Most still depend on large volumes of water, long washing cycles, and separate drying processes. In homes, public facilities, factories, hospitals, and industrial environments, this approach leads to unnecessary water consumption, higher energy use, longer operating times, and gradual damage to surfaces exposed to moisture.

Our invention was developed from a simple question: Can water be used more intelligently rather than simply used in greater quantities?

The answer became a multi-component washing and fire-fighting system that combines fluid engineering, controlled heating, pressure management, and rapid drying in a single integrated device. Instead of relying on excessive water flow, the system improves the effectiveness of the cleaning fluid itself and then removes residual moisture quickly and efficiently.

Why Conventional Systems Fall Short

Whether a system uses liquid water or steam, the same practical problems are often encountered:

• High water consumption during cleaning operations.
• Long washing and drying times.
• Energy losses caused by heating large volumes of water.

How the Technology Works

The system uses a coordinated set of mechanical, thermal, and fluid-control components to manage the behavior of water and other cleaning fluids during the washing process.

By controlling intermolecular interaction, temperature, and pressure conditions, the device increases cleaning efficiency while reducing the amount of fluid required. Immediately after washing, the same system accelerates evaporation and drying, minimizing the time that water remains on the surface.

In practical use, the device performs cleaning, sanitizing, and drying as one continuous process rather than three separate operations.

This approach not only saves resources but also helps protect metals, ceramics, stone, composite materials, and other sensitive surfaces from long-term moisture-related damage.

The Plant Response Diagnosis System (PRDS) is an explainable decision-support system designed to detect hidden physiological stress in soilless greenhouse crops such as rockwool, coco coir, and hydroponic systems. In modern greenhouses, substrate and environmental sensors may show acceptable values, while the plant may still suffer from stress caused by high atmospheric demand, osmotic pressure, root-zone limitation, oxygen deficiency, unsuitable root temperature, or non-uniform irrigation. PRDS addresses this problem by analyzing substrate data, environmental data, and plant-response data in one integrated diagnostic framework. The system estimates the Expected Plant Response (EPR) based on current substrate and environmental conditions and compares it with the Actual Plant Response (APR) observed from the plant. 

When a meaningful deviation is detected, the system calculates a Mismatch Index (MI), classifies the probable cause of stress, and provides a practical corrective recommendation.
Unlike conventional greenhouse monitoring systems that mainly display sensor values separately, PRDS evaluates whether the plant is responding as expected under the current growing conditions. This makes the system useful for early detection of hidden stress before severe visible symptoms appear.

This innovation is eligible to receive the IFIA Innovation Standard (IIS) certification because it presents a new and practical approach to smart greenhouse diagnosis. The main innovation is not the use of a new sensor, but the creation of an explainable diagnostic process that compares the expected behavior of the plant with its actual physiological response.
Most existing greenhouse systems focus on monitoring substrate conditions, plant status, or environmental parameters separately. PRDS combines these three layers and transforms raw sensor data into meaningful diagnostic outputs. By detecting mismatches between expected and actual plant responses, the system can identify hidden stress conditions that may not be recognized through ordinary monitoring.
The innovation has strong practical value because it helps growers move from simple data observation to decision-making. It can support earlier stress detection, better irrigation and climate management, reduced crop loss, and more efficient use of water, nutrients, and energy. The system is also scalable and can be implemented with low-cost IoT hardware, web dashboards, and future greenhouse automation platforms. Its explainable structure makes it suitable for growers, researchers, and commercial greenhouse operators.

Sepideh Abedi is an agricultural engineering and horticultural science specialist with professional experience in technical consulting for farmers and agricultural production systems. Her academic and professional background is closely related to plant physiology, horticulture, crop production, and greenhouse management. This background provides a strong foundation for developing an innovation focused on plant response, root-zone conditions, soilless cultivation, and smart agricultural decision-support.
Through the PRDS project, she has contributed to the development of an applied AgTech innovation that connects plant physiology with sensor-based greenhouse management. The project reflects her interest in practical agricultural problem-solving, modern greenhouse technologies, and the development of tools that can help growers make more accurate and timely decisions. The main goal of organizing this event is to praise and honor IFIA INV title holders and to expand the culture of invention and innovation. This event is designed for inventors from all over the world who have received the INV Title and the INV Certificate from the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) in Switzerland. Eligible inventors can register for this worldwide fair free of charge.

Applications without a valid Google Drive link or with restricted access will not be reviewed.

Only IFIA INV Title Holders are eligible to register in the 6th edition who have gained the INV title from all around the world. 

The inventions and innovations will be presented to the International Jury of IFIA, which consists of 35 judges from 30 countries, and they will evaluate the applications submitted for the event.

After reviewing all of the applications, the jury will announce the results, and the applicants will be notified of the decisions. Finally, if the required quorum is obtained based on the judging criteria, gold, silver, and bronze medals would be presented to the best inventions and innovations participating in the competition.

All winners in this event will receive a certificate (Gold, Silver and Bronze) issued by IFIA via e-mail enrolled at the time of registration in electronic format. If the winners want to receive the original certificate, they would have to proceed through the local federation representatives in their countries participating in this event.

It should be noted that the results of the competition and the type of medal will be stated in the electronic certificate. There will not be a physical medal whatsoever.

The IFIA INV Department proudly announced that inventors and innovators from more than 50 countries worldwide have officially received the prestigious IFIA INV Title in recognition of their outstanding achievements in invention, innovation, technology, and scientific development.

According to the IFIA INV Department, recipients of the IFIA INV Title come from countries including the United States, South Korea, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, Colombia, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, Brazil, Mexico, Hong Kong, China, and many other countries around the world.

Furthermore, the IFIA INV Department confirmed that a significant number of INV Title holders are university professors, researchers, academic faculty members, and inventors holding doctoral degrees who actively contribute to scientific research, technological development, and the global innovation ecosystem.

The IFIA INV Title is an international honorary distinction awarded to inventors and innovators who demonstrate exceptional creativity, professional achievement, innovation impact, and active participation in scientific and technological advancement.

In fact, IFIA awarded the very first honorary inventor title to a Nobel Prize laureate in 1977. As a result, this historic decision established an important precedent for recognizing and honoring distinguished inventors worldwide.

Moreover, the INV Title initiative continues to expand globally through the cooperation of IFIA Member Organizations, innovation institutions, international exhibitions, and research communities.

All winners received IFIA awards. Moreover, they were granted the IFIA INV title in recognition of their innovative contributions and international potential.

The IFIA INV Department also announced that every day a considerable number of inventors, researchers, and innovators from different countries submit applications for the IFIA INV Title to the IFIA Secretariat and the INV Department.

After carefully reviewing scientific records, innovation achievements, professional qualifications, and evaluation criteria, the IFIA Secretariat grants the INV Title to qualified applicants.

Additionally, accepted inventors receive an official IFIA certificate signed by three IFIA Vice Presidents.

Furthermore, all issued certificates contain a unique official verification code and can be verified directly through the official IFIA website. This verification system has been developed to increase transparency, international credibility, and protection against unauthorized use.

The IFIA INV Department emphasized that the INV Title does not represent organizational membership within IFIA. Instead, it serves as an international recognition system designed to honor genuine inventors, innovation leaders, and scientific contributors worldwide.

In addition, INV Title holders benefit from international visibility, participation opportunities in IFIA programs and competitions, and access to IFIA’s global innovation network.

The fourth edition of the X-thon 4 hackathon was recently held at the University of Tabuk in Saudi Arabia, bringing together more than 300 innovators representing 30 academic and institutional entities from across the Kingdom. The event was organized under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Tabuk Region, and in strategic partnership with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority SDAIA.

As part of its global mission to promote innovation, the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations IFIA, under the directive of its President, supported this major event by presenting three special awards and granting the prestigious IFIA INV title, an internationally recognized distinction awarded to outstanding innovators.

The hackathon focused on developing advanced digital solutions to enhance road safety by utilizing emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, and smart mobility systems. Over the course of four days, participants worked in a highly collaborative environment to transform their ideas into practical and scalable prototypes aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and its objectives for sustainable development and improved quality of life.

The 27th Thailand Inventors’ Day 2026, organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and supported by the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), was successfully held from January 5–9, 2026 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangna, Bangkok, Thailand. Under the theme “Unlock Thailand – Power of Invention and Innovation” the event combined national celebration with international collaboration, showcasing inventions, research, and technological solutions across multiple sectors.

A highlight of the event was the Thailand New Gen Inventors Award (I–New Gen Award 2026) and I–New Gen Junior Award 2026, providing young innovators from primary, secondary, vocational, and university levels with a platform to present their projects.

The 19th International Warsaw Invention Show (IWIS 2025) concluded successfully on 7–9 November 2025 at the iconic Copernicus Science Centre, bringing together over 300 groundbreaking inventions from 25 countries. As one of Europe’s most influential innovation exhibitions, the event once again positioned Warsaw at the center of global scientific and technological progress.

This year’s exhibition showcased a wide spectrum of fields including engineering, medicine, biotechnology, chemistry, robotics, digital technologies, environmental sustainability, and advanced materials. Universities, research institutes, technology centers, and independent inventors presented their most recent achievements to an international audience of experts and industry representatives.

A defining feature of IWIS 2025 was the extensive partnership with the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA). IFIA’s involvement provided scientific oversight, global recognition, and institutional support, significantly elevating the event’s international credibility and reach.

In parallel with the exhibition, IWIS 2025 hosted the 14th World Competition of Chemical Inventions, co-organized by IFIA and the Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers. The competition spotlighted major scientific advancements in applied chemistry and advanced materials, adding depth and technical strength to the event.

One of the most highly anticipated moments of the show was the IFIA Special Awards Ceremony, presented personally by IFIA President Mr. Alireza Rastegar. These prestigious honors are reserved for inventions demonstrating exceptional scientific merit, technological innovation, and societal impact.

ARCA: A Platform for Global Innovation

For more than two decades, ARCA has served as a bridge connecting innovators, researchers, and investors worldwide.

The 2025 edition once again proved that collaboration, creativity, and knowledge exchange remain the cornerstones of global progress values championed by IFIA and its international community of inventors.

The 14th edition of InnovaCities – the International Fair of Smart, Joyful, Humane, and Resilient Cities, was successfully held from September 15 to 17, 2025, at the Recanto Cataratas Thermas Resort & Convention Center in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. Organized by ABIPIR – the Brazilian International Association of Inventors, Scientists, and Innovative Entrepreneurs, and supported by IFIA – the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations, the event gathered over 3,000 participants from 15 countries, including innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and representatives from academia, government, and industry.

InnovaCities 2025 stood out as a premier platform for presenting practical and scalable solutions addressing global urban challenges. More than 100 projects were exhibited in person and online through the InnovaCities Regenerative Innovation Competition and the BRICS Technological Innovation Competition, highlighting innovations in healthcare, education, sustainability, urban mobility, artificial intelligence, and governance.

The Regenerative Innovation Competition recognized projects that combined social, environmental, and economic regeneration principles. Eighty projects competed in five categories Urban Sustainability, Governance and Inclusive Public Policies, Resilient Cities, Diversity and Technology for Equity, and New Regenerative Economic Systems with winners receiving internationally recognized medals and IFIA certificates.

In parallel, the BRICS Technological Innovation Competition brought together 79 projects from countries including Brazil, China, India, New Zealand, Argentina, Turkey, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Uganda, Paraguay, Ecuador, Bangladesh, and Rwanda. The competition featured cutting-edge solutions in digital medicine, advanced manufacturing, green energy, artificial intelligence, and smart governance.

Complementing the competitions, the fair hosted the Latin American Artificial Intelligence Congress, which explored how AI can foster sustainable urban development across Latin America. The event attracted experts, academics, and entrepreneurs to discuss topics such as Education 4.0, Smart Cities, Renewable Energy, Governance for the Future, and Smart Tourism Destinations

Other activities included business roundtables organized by SEBRAE, connecting 48 startups and enterprises with potential investors and partners, and a series of workshops, panels, and lectures on sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The Foz do Iguaçu City Hall also participated actively, offering vaccination services, public consultations, and civic engagement initiatives aligned with the fair’s theme of humane and inclusive urbanism.

A significant educational component was achieved through the participation of more than 250 students from state and municipal schools, nurturing the next generation’s interest in science, innovation, and social responsibility.

InnovaCities 2025 demonstrated measurable impact across multiple dimensions:

The National Award for Colombian Inventors 2025 was held on September 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Planetarium of Bogotá, uniting prominent stakeholders of Colombia’s innovation and intellectual property ecosystem.

This distinguished event was organized with the invaluable support of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), represented respectively by Marco Alemán and Alireza Rastegar. Held virtually from August 15–17, 2025, this prestigious event reaffirmed IFIA’s mission as a leading INGO to empower inventors, foster sustainability-driven ideas, and amplify the impact of youth-led innovation.

This year’s edition shone a spotlight on some of the most urgent themes shaping our world:

The 2025 competition achieved a record-breaking milestone with over 1,100 inventive projects submitted from 27 countries, reflecting the growing momentum of the INV community.

Inventors from diverse nations such as the USA, Canada, Germany, France, Morocco, Turkey, Iran, Russia, Qatar, Kuwait, China, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Poland, New Zealand, and beyond showcased their visions of a brighter, more sustainable future. Their work highlighted a powerful truth: the next generation is not only prepared to tackle today’s challenges but is also boldly reimagining tomorrow.

Each participant, as a proud holder of the INV Title, submitted their credentials, a detailed registration form, and a compelling video pitch. This streamlined process enabled IFIA’s distinguished jury to assess submissions with precision and depth.

The evaluation process placed particular emphasis on:

• Alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
• Practicality and scalability of the inventions
• Contributions to renewable energy, AI-driven innovation, environmental protection, and societal impact

All entries were classified into 15 specialized categories, ranging from Artificial Intelligence & Data Science to Medical Technologies, Green Energy, Smart Agriculture, Education, Civil & Mechanical Engineering, and more.

After three days of intensive review, the competition culminated in the recognition of outstanding inventors with Gold, Silver, and Bronze e-certificates. These awards not only celebrate technical achievement but also symbolize IFIA’s commitment to supporting inventors who are shaping a sustainable and innovative global future.

Please note that, in accordance with IFIA policy and international standards for invention competition, exhibition, festival and fairs, the full list of medalists (Gold, Silver, Bronze) is not published publicly on the IFIA website due to the large number of participants. Organized by the Korea Women Inventors Association (KWIA) in collaboration with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), the event once again served as a prominent global stage for celebrating women’s innovation and ingenuity.

The 17th edition of EUROINVENT – European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation was successfully organized on-site from May 8 to May 10, 2025, in Iași, Romania, under the auspices of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) and with the support of the Romanian Government – Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalization. The event was organized by the Romanian Inventors Forum, in collaboration with Europe Direct Iași, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași, and Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași. This prestigious gathering brought together inventors, researchers, academics, and innovation leaders from around the world, reinforcing EUROINVENT’s role as a leading platform for advancing creativity and international knowledge exchange.

Moderated by Dr. Andrei Victor Sandu, President of the Romanian Inventors Forum, the opening ceremony featured powerful messages and institutional support from:

Held in parallel from May 8–9, 2025, the 11th edition of the International Conference on Innovative Research (ICIR EUROINVENT) focused on advanced topics in Materials Science and Engineering. Innovators were recognized across two main categories Young Innovators and Senior Innovators with special awards and the GRAND PRIX for the best overall innovation of the fair.

The 26th Thailand Inventors’ Day, organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, was successfully held from February 2 to 6, 2025, at BITEC Bangna, Bangkok. The event, showcased groundbreaking inventions and fostered international collaboration, attracting over 25,000 visitors and featuring more than 2,000 local Thai inventions alongside 600 international innovations from across the globe.

The competition not only provided young inventors with exposure to industry professionals and international innovators but also strengthened collaborations between educational institutions, research organizations, and private sectors. The winners were recognized for their contributions to fields such as AI and robotics, sustainability, medical technology, and smart solutions, reinforcing Thailand’s commitment to fostering the next generation of inventors.

On February 3, 2025, the Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, and Technology Exposition (IPITEx 2025) welcomed international delegations to enhance global cooperation in scientific research and technological advancements.

The event served as a prestigious platform for cross-border collaborations, strengthening ties between Thai and international innovators.

Dr. Wiparat De-ong emphasized NRCT’s dedication to fostering international cooperation, facilitating an exchange of knowledge, and ensuring sustainable partnerships between inventors from various regions. Mr. Alireza Rastegar, President of IFIA, commended NRCT for its outstanding organization and highlighted IPITEx as a key global event for inventors and researchers worldwide.

The event culminated on February 6, 2025, with the IPITEx 2025 Award Ceremony, where Dr. Wiparat De-ong presided over the proceedings alongside esteemed representatives from NRCT and distinguished international delegates. IFIA’s Prominent Role at iENA 2024

As a Competence Partner, the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) once again had a significant presence at this year’s iENA, reinforcing its commitment to fostering global innovation and supporting inventors worldwide. Throughout the event, IFIA representatives engaged with many of its members and participating inventors, fostering connections and offering guidance to help them maximize the opportunities presented at iENA.

One of the highlights of IFIA’s involvement was the prestigious awards ceremony, where IFIA proudly presented special awards to the top three inventions of iENA 2024 from China, Indonesia, and South Korea. This gesture not only recognized the creativity and hard work of these inventors but also underscored IFIA’s dedication to celebrating groundbreaking achievements in innovation.

Through its active participation and support, IFIA continues to play an integral role in elevating the iENA event and supporting inventors globally.

From October 14 to 16, the XVIII International Warsaw Invention Show (IWIS) 2024 showcased the very best of global innovation, bringing together a vibrant community of experts, creative thinkers, and technology enthusiasts from over 18 countries. Held under the Honorary Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, and in partnership with the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), this year’s event highlighted more than 200 groundbreaking ideas, each with the potential to drive substantial advancements in technology.

Organized by the Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers, IWIS 2024 featured pioneering solutions from over 100 scientific entities, including research institutes, universities, and individual inventors. An international jury recognized exhibitors with gold, silver, and bronze medals for their impressive innovations.

Among the distinguished participants, the Grand Prix Award was granted to Dr. Shahriar Nazari, Dr. Nima Hadadian and Dr. Foroohe Bayatparidary from Iran for their invention, the “Fat Membrane Production and Processing Device.” This innovative device produces a fat membrane containing stem cells and growth factors sourced from the individual’s own body, offering promising applications in treating wounds, scars, burns, diabetic foot ulcers, and surgical repair.

The Special Award for the Best National Invention was presented to the Cracow University of Technology’s Department of Materials Science for their “Polymer-Peptide Mask Modified with Zinc Nanoparticles,” designed to promote skin regeneration. Meanwhile, Thailand’s Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi received the Best Foreign Invention Award for their eco-friendly, recycled polymer-based hollow products, underlining the event’s global reach and commitment to sustainable innovation.

This year’s IWIS also hosted the 13th edition of the World Competition of Chemical Inventions, organized by IFIA and the Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers. The top prize in this prestigious competition was awarded to the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology from Poland for their novel method of modifying the EG01377 molecule, a development expected to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceutical applications.

The diversity of participating nations including Croatia, Iran, Ukraine, Romania, Armenia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, the United States, and Thailand underscored the event’s role as a hub for intercultural exchange in the field of innovation. Complementing the exhibition were thought-provoking lectures on intellectual property and innovative technologies, which inspired in-depth discussions and broadened the perspectives of attendees.

The XVIII International Warsaw Invention Show IWIS 2024 was not only a stage for presenting novel ideas but also a vibrant space where knowledge and inspiration fostered an environment ripe for technological progress. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants, speakers, partners, and contributors who made this event a resounding success.

A series of side-events were also organized, including the innovation forum titled “Innovation as a Booster for the Economic Development of Croatia,” a lecture on intellectual property rights by the State Institute for Intellectual Property, a presentation on the Finnish education system, and an EIT lecture introducing the “Food HUB Croatia” initiative. Additionally, over the course of the event, educational workshops for young people were conducted, including LegoWeDo activities for primary and secondary school students and a hands-on workshop on building xVidi mini computers.

The awarding ceremony recognized outstanding contributions in both the young and senior categories with gold, silver, and bronze medals. Special awards were also presented, including two prestigious WIPO awards. The winners of these WIPO awards were:

• Young Innovators Category: “AGRIS – Off-Grid Mobile Environmental Monitoring System” by students Lukas Pavlović, David Janžek, and mentor Tomislav Pavlek.
• Senior Innovators Category: “Machine for Cleaning Siberian Blueberry from Leaves” by Igor and Josip Hrustek.

Moreover, two special awards from IFIA were given to:

• “Machine for Marking and Masking Lines on the Floor with Adhesive Tape” by Bozo Buhin.
• “Innovative System for the Survival of Bees and Sustainable Beekeeping” by PIP Ltd, created by Ivan Bračić.

The Grand Prix award, the highest honor of the exhibition, was presented to Tehnix Ltd. for their innovation, “Special Modular Building for Social Purposes, for the Elderly and Disabled Persons”, designed by Dubravko Horvat.

We are thrilled to announce the outcomes of the Fourth International Invention and Innovation Competition for IFIA INV Title Holders, a remarkable event that has once again brought together some of the brightest minds in the field of innovation.

As a prominent INGO devoted to fostering creativity and pioneering innovations, the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) is steadfast in its commitment to recognizing and uplifting the inventive community. To advance this mission, we introduced the INV title as a prestigious recognition for inventors, which has led to the creation of the INV Invention Competition.

This year’s fourth International Invention Competition saw an impressive participation, with over 600 innovative inventions submitted by inventors from 40 countries across the globe. Participants from diverse regions, including the USA, Canada, Australia, Morocco, Indonesia, Turkey, Iran, Russia, Qatar, Bahrain, the UK, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Poland, and many others, contributed their pioneering ideas to the competition.

The event was held virtually from August 16-18, 2024, exclusively for members of IFIA holding the INV title. The entire competition was conducted online, allowing inventors to submit their entries through a streamlined process. Each participant provided their INV title certificate, completed a detailed registration form, and submitted a concise video presentation showcasing their invention. This process allowed the IFIA judges to evaluate each submission thoroughly and efficiently.

The jury’s evaluation was based on multiple factors, with a strong emphasis on the invention’s potential for environmental sustainability and its relevance to public needs. These criteria were crucial in determining the most impactful innovations.

All inventions were classified into 15 distinct categories, covering a wide range of disciplines such as Information Technology, Medical Devices, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Conservation, Agriculture, and more.

After a rigorous three-day assessment period, the final results have been compiled. Winners of this prestigious competition will receive their awards Gold, Silver, or Bronze e-certificates.

IFIA is deeply proud to witness the continued global growth of the innovation and invention community. With each passing year, more individuals are inspired to contribute to this dynamic field. KIWIE 2024 not only showcased the incredible creativity and innovation of women worldwide but also succeeded in increasing interest in women’s invention activities and strengthening the foundation for female inventors. The event facilitated knowledge and idea exchange, evaluated and awarded outstanding inventions, and promoted the distribution of exceptional innovations.

Since its inception in 2001, KIWIE has been dedicated to fostering the creativity and innovation of women worldwide. The Korea Women Inventors Association (KWIA) continues to play a pivotal role in this mission by supporting various activities, such as training and supporting women inventors, discovering and assisting everyday life inventions, and helping commercialize these innovations.

As the 17th edition concluded, KIWIE organizers and participants expressed their enthusiasm and gratitude for the successful event. The expo not only served as a testament to the remarkable achievements and contributions of women in the world of inventions but also inspired the next generation of creative minds and inventors.

Smart Agricultural Control Board (SMAGRI) is designed to assist in the production of agricultural products in any season and climate. This advanced board uses creative olfactory and turbidity sensing technology, combined with high-level artificial intelligence algorithms and various types of Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, to collect the necessary parameters. The food crisis and the increasing demand for food, as well as the importance of healthy and natural food and the avoidance of genetically modified crops, on one hand, and the water crisis and global warming, which have a direct impact on food security, on the other hand, have all motivated the design and completion of this project. The practical and effective application of artificial intelligence alongside IoT technology, along with the guarantee of secure communication by the blockchain network, enables the realization of remote agriculture and even makes it possible to cultivate a wide range of agricultural products in areas that are not suitable for agriculture due to various factors.

-Utilization of olfactory techniques and creation of a unique cultivation pattern for each type of seed

Despite all the advancements, humanity remains vulnerable. Unforeseen crises can arise and threaten the basic needs of each individual, such as food security. Like the economic crisis of 2008, the 2019 pandemic, and various wars. In this context, food provision is one of the most fundamental human needs. The possibility of small-scale agriculture, from home gardens to large farms, with minimal agricultural knowledge, can be a significant help in overcoming crises. Therefore, the main objective of designing and producing the SMAGRI control board is to contribute to food security.

INTARG® COMPETITION:   An important and integral element of the show is the INTARG® competition, in which a group of jurors and experts assess the presented solutions, selecting the most interesting ones and awarding prizes and medals. This year, the members of the jury evaluating the presented solutions were, as always, recognized Polish and foreign scientists and experts. During the INTARG® 2024 final gala, prestigious awards were presented for the most interesting solutions presented at the show.

CONFERENCES: The Silesian University of Technology, the Substantive Partner, organized a conference – discussion panels with the participation of scientists and representatives of the business world, discussing issues from a number of thematic areas illustrating the importance of science in both social and economic terms. They were devoted to the synergy of science and industry, knowledge and technology transfer, and the protection of intellectual property. All panels were held on the Fairgrounds.

INTARG® ECO: Parallel to the INTARG® show, the INTARG® EKO trade fair was held for the presentation of ‘green technologies.

TOP POLISH INVENTIONS EXCHANGE:  Another event accompanying the Fair was the Exchange of TOP Polish Inventions Awarded at the 2023 International Invention Show, with a ceremonial presentation of awards by the Minister of Education for special activity in promoting Polish science on the international arena.

MATCHMAKING: B2B International Matchmaking Event INTARG® talks organized by the European Europe Network and the Upper Silesia Fund.  The workshop was organized by the Future Industry Platform and company “Mamy Energię”

ARTISTIC SETTING: Both the inauguration and the final gala were provided with a rich artistic setting: a performance by multi-instrumentalist Agata Zamirska and a concert during the closing gala by artists Jerzy Jarosik, Piotr Wojtasik, Bartłomiej Kalicki, Michał Barański and Kacper Kałuża. PROMOTION IN THE MEDIA, VISITORS It was with satisfaction that we observed TV, radio and press journalists who spent many hours at the Show interviewing exhibitors, resulting in numerous reports and ‘live’ reports on TV and radio, as well as articles in the press and in social media – so important for disseminating the achievements of exhibitors and promoting their innovative solutions and inventions and the event as a whole. The Show attracted a great deal of interest from visitors representing a variety of backgrounds – both professionals – entrepreneurs, as well as those interested in technical and technological innovations as a hobbyist. The visitors also included school and university students.
