You may think you have a pretty darn good understanding of what creativity is- you see it, you hear about it, and maybe you even practice it. But what exactly makes something creative? And how can one get better at creativity?

Creativity is a mindset, a skill set, and a toolset. It’s a framework for approaching problems. It involves brainstorming a lot of ideas, seeking novelty, deferring judgment, and building off the ideas of others.

When it comes down to it, creativity is about going beyond just your first right answer and discovering the second, third, or 124th.

Practicing creativity will bring creative confidence, and with creative confidence will come your ability to look at problems as opportunities. You will find new solutions to personal opportunities and change your life. You will find creative solutions to community opportunities and change your world. You will discover new connections to improve the world for all of us.

United Nations Global calls out to Creatives to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

According to the UN, people have the power to change the world and the UN needs support to stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). World Health organizations (WHO) is leading and coordinating the global health response to countries. Helping the countries to prevent, detect and respond to the pandemic. It will be more effective if people from everywhere adopt public health precautions, act in solidarity and prevent the spread of misinformation.

According to the findings of the special edition of the Creative Economy Report “Widening local development pathways”, co-published by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) through the UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) in the 21st century, creativity and innovations have become the true wealth of nations, both at individual and group levels.

World Creativity and Innovation Day April 21 (WCID) was founded by Marci Segal on May 25, 2001, in Toronto, Canada.

The purpose of World Creativity and Innovation Day was, and still is, to remind and encourage people to use their creativity to make the world a better place and to make their place in the world better too.

April 21, the day before Earth Day, April 22, was chosen as World Creativity and Innovation Day to emphasize the importance of using new thinking to create a decent life for all on a sustainable planet.

April 21 is a placeholder in time to give people a reason and opportunity to use imagination productively, to release new thinking, and to celebrate that.

2017: World Creativity and Innovation Day, April 21 Become a United Nations International Day of Observance.

On April 27, 2017, the United Nations resolved to include World Creativity and Innovation Day, April 21 as a Day of Observance to encourage people to use creativity in problem-solving for all issues related to achieving the 2015 Sustainable Development Goals. 2018 marks the first year the UN will observe WCID.
