As the main promoter of science education in Ukraine, JASU organizes, maintains, and develops plenty of various extracurricular activities both for school students and educators. For instance, Ukrainian Scientific Project Competition for School Students annually unites more than 100,000 school students engaged in scientific and research activity; the Innovative Expo “Future of Ukraine” presents around 100 unique and innovative developments to identify the best young innovators within seven modern majors; MANLab is the largest cross-disciplinary laboratory for schools students in Ukraine; Laboratory of Experimental Research Ex Lab is the permanent science-oriented laboratory in chemistry, biology, IT and robotics; Summer Schools in various majors; UF Inсubator is a modern platform to transform innovative activities of young entrepreneurs into mature business models; Children’s Academy “Futurum” provides for an initial phase of science education among children of 6-13 y.o.; National Final of the Destination Imagination Program is a licensed program of Olympiad in Creativity Destination Imagination; Activities for Educators.

Ukrainian Council of Inventors and Innovators (UCII) is an official Ukrainian civil body legalised by the Ministry of Ukraine in November 2009 (Reference: Decree 2211/5 of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine).

UCII is a body which consolidates Ukrainian innovators and inventors, but also has foreign members. Its activities range from representing Ukrainian inventions at international innovation and invention shows to cooperation with groups of inventors from other countries.

UCII Mission is to support the development of innovation activities and youth initiatives in innovation.

Ukrainian Council of Inventors and Innovators is the member of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) and World Women Inventors and Entrepreneur’s Association (WWIEA).

Through its close link with the Unified Centre for implementation of technologies, UCII is a partner of the EEN-Ukraine Consortium, established in 2011 on the basis of (Enterprise Europe Network — EEN) and in support of the 4 ongoing EU projects. One of the projects: “Support to the science intensive and innovation enterprises, and technology transfer to businesses in Ukraine” (Innoenterprise)

Vinnytsia National Technical University is an educational establishment of the fourth level of accreditation well known both in Ukraine and far abroad.

VNTU consists of 7 educational and scientific faculties and 1 educational and scientific institute:

The general technical faculty of Kyiv Institute of Food Industry was created in Vinnytsia in 1960. One year later it became the part of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI), on the basis of which the Vinnytsia branch of KPI was established in a year.
The decision of Vinnytsia Regional Council of People’s Deputies provided 25 hectares lot for establishing polytechnic higher educational institution in Vinnytsia, and in 1967 two educational buildings and the first students’ dorm was built with some utility premises. Today there are 12 buildings, 6 of which are united by the corridors into unique complex, the stadium with covered running-tracks, underground track-and-field hall, 12 open air playing grounds, 7 students, dorms, sanatorium-preventorium for students, sanitary assistance and a students’ restaurant, providing delicious foods for students and University staff.
In 1974, Vinnytsia Polytechnic Institute, the seventh in Ukraine in this group of educational establishments, was established on the base of Vinnytsia branch of KPI. 20 years later, in 1994, Vinnytsia Polytechnic Institute was reorganized into Vinnytsia Sate Technical University to implement one of the regulations of the program for entering the international educational environment and for ensuring the adequate to the Western Universities education standard. In 2004, the University was given the status of the National University. Vinnytsia National Technical University (VNTU) is very well known today both in Ukraine and abroad for it trains specialists for almost 70 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America for about 20 years. Rector of the University, Mr. Mokin, Doctor of Technical Sciences is a full member of the State Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, number of public Academies, Meritorious Worker of Science and Engineering of Ukraine.
Within 1960 – 1976 the Institute was run by the Meritorious Worker of Public Education of Ukraine, Roman Kigel . Cand. Sc. in economics, Professor, in 1976 – 1989 by the Meritorious Worker of Science and Engineering of Ukrainian SSR, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Ivan V. Kuzmin. Roman Kigel founded the Institute, established it on the basis of polytechnic Institute, started eleven specialities and set up 1/3 of its material resources.
Ivan V. Kuzmin developed the University up to the level of the leading higher educational institutions of Ukraine, started 5 more specialities and set up the second half of its material resources. Borys I. Mokin changed Polytechnic Institute into the Technical University, acquired the status of the national University, integrated it into the system of European and world higher education, started 15 more specialities and is constantly improving the University material resources.

The educational and scientific activity is conducted by 47 departments, 26 of which are running branch offices with the enterprises in Vinnytsia and Vinnytsia region. The departments are run by Doctors of Sciences, Professors, 84 % of teaching staff in the graduating departments and 72 % of University teachers have scientific degrees and titles. 2 % of University teaches have honorary title Meritorious. 10 % are Academicians and Correspondent Members of State and Public Academies. Main administrative building VNTU is the unique University in Ukraine as well as among the Countries of New Independent States to introduce in 1991 the three semester study system, two semesters of which are conducted following the curricula, and the third . is a working semester. During the working semester, the first year students obtain the working profession, corresponding to the future engineering one. The senior students are working on the enterprises independently, improving their qualification.
Department for Training and Production Integration has its representatives in all the industrial cities of Ukraine which allows to run the working semesters. VNTU is given the highest fourth level of accreditation and trains students according to the three stage system include Bachelor, Engineer, Master, following the curricula, which integrates the peculiarities of national and Canadian system of higher education.

Activity in innovation ecosystem development in Ukraine

National Development and Innovations Foundation implements a comprehensive program of technological development of economy of Ukraine, that includes the commercialization of new technologies and development of new technology-based enterprises – in close cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; supports the development of technologies at all levels of research and development activities and ensure their implementation in Ukraine’s economy.

NDI Foundation builds innovation management system development in Ukraine with the broad support of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine, the Parliament’s Committee on Science and Education, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Administration of the President of Ukraine.

The Junior Academy of Sciences (JAS, the Academy) of Ukraine is an educational system that aims at providing the organization and coordination of students’ research activities, creating conditions for their intellectual and creative development, spiritual advance, and vocational self-determination to support the scientific potential growth of the country.

Founded nearly 70 years ago, the Academy passed through several stages of its formation and development. The precondition for the extracurricular education entity to be launched was the organization of the extracurricular education institutions’ scientific student clusters the network of which was formed in the 1920s–1940s. According to the USSR Academy of Sciences’ request to strengthen patronage over the children’s scientific organizations in 1939, there was adopted the Resolution on Patronage over the Kyiv Palace of Pioneers Concerning the Work with Talented Children and Youth, so that the scientific clusters got to work in most Ukrainian large cities during next 10 years. Later on, the separate clusters and sections join the students’ scientific societies. Thus, in 1947 there was launched the Science and Technology Students’ Society on the Kyiv Palace of Pioneers base, with the first students’ theoretical and practical conference held in Kyiv in 1950. The first mass scientific entity was the Junior Academy of Sciences of Crimea named “Iskatel’” (“seeker” in English) and established in 1963, this experience became the basis to finding Junior academies of sciences in different Ukrainian regions in the 1960s-1980s.

JASU activity is aimed at science education development, especially in STEM fields, in Ukraine and all over the world according to the 4th goal of SDG “Quality education”, joining new networks of scientific, educational, and innovative institutions is vital for creating and developing new opportunities for young scientists and innovators.

UNESCO Centre “Junior Academy of Science of Ukraine” (JASU) is a governmental scientific and educational organization, working as the extracurricular centre for middle and high school-aged students and teachers gathering around 250,000 of Ukrainian school students engaged in science and research activities. JASU is the 2nd category centre of UNESCO for development science education in the world according to the 4^th Goal of SDG “Quality education”. JASU is well recognizable educational provider both in Ukraine and abroad and is a prominent partner for international cooperation and joint projects.

International activity of JASU includes hosting of TOP world-known events in Ukraine (European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad, EGMO 2019 attended by 196 participants from 49 countries), Ukrainian delegations at world-known science competitions and Olympiads over the last 5 years involved more than 700 participants at 60 international events won 100 awards; Science Schools abroad jointly with our strategic partners; Project “Lectures of the Future” means visits of the most known scientists of nowadays, including visits of 4 Nobel prize laureates.

Overall, International JASU network includes 128 strategic partners from 35 countries at 5 continents, namely European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Argonne National Laboratory, the National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath), Museo Interactivo de Economía (MIDE), Francis Crick Institute, Science Centre Singapore, diplomatic envoys of Ukraine to foreign countries, etc.
