Geneva, Switzerland – The International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) has announced the winners of the BRICS Inventions Event 2025, awarding more than CHF 34,000 in cash prizes to outstanding inventors, research institutions, universities, and technology organizations from around the world.

The annual BRICS Inventions Event has become one of the leading international platforms for recognizing innovation and technological excellence. Through its prize program, IFIA supports inventors whose groundbreaking solutions address global challenges and contribute to scientific, industrial, and societal progress.

The highest distinction of the event, the Grand Prize worth CHF 15,000, was awarded to a team from China, including State Grid Yili Yihe Power Supply Co., Ltd., State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, and Wuhan NARI Co., Ltd., for their invention titled “Flexible Damping Device for Preventing Wind-Induced Flashovers on Transmission Lines.”

The Second Prize of CHF 7,500 was presented to a collaborative Chinese research team representing the China Electric Power Research Institute, Beijing Soaring Electric Technology Co., Ltd., Hunan University, and Tsinghua University for their invention “Key Technologies and Equipment for Safety Early Warning and Grid-forming Control of Lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage Systems.”

The BRICS Prize of CHF 5,000 was awarded to the Hong Kong Police Force and Rescue Reach Technologies Limited for developing the “HKSOS Smart Rescue Ecosystem,” an innovative solution designed to enhance emergency response and rescue operations.

The Third Prize of CHF 3,500 was awarded to Dr. Ali Haneef from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for his invention “Microneedle Balloon Catheter,” a promising innovation in the field of medical technology.

In addition to the major awards, IFIA also presented its special innovation prizes to outstanding inventors from Europe and Asia.

The IFIA Prize worth CHF 1,000 was awarded to Alex Breton of Sweden for his invention “Personal Mobile ATM Device (Method and printer unit for printing a physical note for accessing a digital asset).”

The IFIA Youth Prize worth CHF 1,000 was awarded to Peter Liu of Chinese Taipei for his invention “BreatheBack.”

With a total prize fund exceeding CHF 34,000, the BRICS Inventions Event continues to strengthen international cooperation in innovation and provide inventors with global recognition, networking opportunities, and support for the commercialization of their technologies.
