The International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), as a supporting partner of the Green Product Awards 2026, proudly highlights the success of one of the world’s leading platforms dedicated to sustainable innovation, green design, and circular economy solutions.

Held on May 28 in Berlin under the theme “Shape What Matters,” the Green Product Awards 2026 brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, designers, start-ups, sustainability experts, and industry representatives from across the globe to showcase breakthrough solutions addressing environmental and societal challenges.

More than 1,200 projects from 54 countries were submitted to this year’s competition, reflecting the growing international commitment to sustainable product development and responsible innovation

 

The Green Product Awards have become a globally recognized platform for identifying and promoting products and concepts that combine innovation, functionality, and environmental responsibility.

An international jury selected outstanding projects across 12 categories, honoring innovations that demonstrate:

• Circular economy principles
• Sustainable material selection
• Product repairability
• Resource efficiency
• Take-back and recycling systems
• Climate-conscious product development

The awarded projects illustrate how innovation can contribute directly to achieving global sustainability goals while creating economic and social value.

• A major focus of this year’s Green Product Summit was the future of sustainable product design in light of emerging European Union regulations.

  Experts discussed new compliance requirements, eco-design principles, and strategies for helping businesses adapt to evolving sustainability standards.

  The event also introduced Normina, a new e-learning platform designed to support companies in understanding sustainability compliance requirements and implementing responsible product development practices.

  As sustainability regulations continue to reshape international markets, such initiatives are expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting innovators and manufacturers worldwide.

Public participation remained a key element of the Green Product Awards 2026.

Approximately 50,000 public votes were cast to determine the winners of the Audience Awards, demonstrating growing consumer interest in sustainable products and environmentally responsible innovation.

The strong engagement highlights the increasing demand for products that combine technological advancement with measurable environmental impact.

Another highlight of the event was the launch of the Green Trend Book No. 13, a comprehensive 212-page publication presenting award-winning projects, emerging technologies, sustainable materials, and future design trends.

The publication serves as a valuable resource for innovators, manufacturers, designers, researchers, and policymakers seeking insights into the next generation of sustainable product development.
