Foundation for Design and Invention Nigeria (FDIN), a non-profit organization established in Nigeria, plans to work with governmental organization, public and private stakeholders in the field of Engineering, Telecommunication, Medicine, Agriculture, Technology; within and outside the shores of Nigeria to improve the well being and of not only Inventors but of the common Nigerian and the African continent. FDIN also plans on being part of a well-recognized body like the IFIA to become its ambassadors for growth and development in Africa.

Foundation for Design and Invention Nigeria (FDIN) aims to:

• Organize inventors in Nigeria for purposes of raising awareness on IP Rights;
• Assist inventors in the research and development of their inventions;
• Assist inventors in the commercialization of their innovations;
• Promote the marketing and trade of members’ innovations through organized expositions;
• Organize seminars, workshops or symposiums for inventors as part of education and training;
• Promote invention activities in schools, colleges and universities through invention clubs;
• Promote the establishment of Micro, Small and Medium enterprises (MSMEs);
• Mobilize funding to promote the works of inventors and the Association;
• Engage in income generating projects  to support the operations and growth  of Association;
• Promote collaboration between international corporations and inventors for the growth of the African continent;

• Organizing workshops, seminars and symposiums to enlighten inventors on Intellectual property and trademarks;
• Preparing invention and design from idea stage up till commercialization;
• Working hand-in-hand with inventors to ensure ideas come to life;
• Partner with Universities and research Institutes of learning to encourage ingenuity amongst students;
• Partnering with government establishment and key stakeholders to ensure involvement & support for our course;
• Engaging local industries for purposes of promoting joint ventures between Association members and industry.

Sustainable Development Solutions Organization (SUDESO) is the local NGO in Malawi registered in renewable energies mainly on the promotion of biogas technology. It was registered on 13th August, 2013 with the Registration number of 13239.

SUDESO aims to provide lighting and clean cooking fuel at the doorstep targeting the off-grid energy rural communities in Malawi particularly Mzimba district as our target area , the technology is to improve health, education, agriculture – food security and energy in rural communities where 80% of the population lives .

To have vibrant and independent communities that are able to analyze themselves, generate and implement solutions at all times for better rural livelihood.

To improve people’s wellbeing through establishing and enforcing sustainable development solutions in their health, social and economic aspects.

• To contribute towards reduction of deforestation through provision of alternative fuel sources;
• To enhance effective participation of rural inhabitants in the development of their communities;
• To facilitate the availability of development professionals in most rural remote areas;
• To facilitate sustainable development coverage in the hard to reach rural areas in Malawi;
• To raise awareness and promote community participation in energy conservation;
• To promote partnerships, collaboration or networking on renewable programmes for the benefit of the people;
• To advocate for the proper implementation of forestry policies and systems at all levels;
• To co-operate with organizations with more or less similar objectives;
• To carry out community services to cover all aspects of need; and
• To solicit donations or investments for furtherance of the objectives.

Renewable Energies: providing off-grid energy to hard-to-reach rural communities through installing domestic biogas digesters, solar domestic system and fuel saving cook stoves for them.

Capacity building: training communities on renewable energies, and management of rural as well as community development through publishing articles on local Nation news papers, distributing brochures, organizing sensitization meetings and rallies.

Environmental projects: motivating communities in forestation, encouraging biogas beneficiary to have orchard and vegetable gardens.

Impact study: spotting the pros and cons within the system and the promotion of educational tours within and outside Malawi.

Project research and evaluation: carrying research within the organization and also outside as consultants.                            .

Basic education: Coordinating with learning institutions installing biogas facilities for cooking, solar systems for pupils to study and phone charging at a reasonable fee charge, the fee deposited at school account to be used during maintenances, and replacements.

Food security: Promotion of using bio-slurry manure from bio-digester and not chemical fertilizer application.

Mothapo Development Organization (MDO) was established on 7 February 2018 at the Law Office of the Kingdom of Lesotho. The Organization was inspired by the non-existence of an inventors and innovators association in Lesotho. This is more especially so because the lack of intellectual property awareness in Lesotho amongst ordinary citizens contributes to the lack of motivation to create new inventions and innovations, especially amongst poor yet creative individuals.
This is why 10 extra-ordinary Basotho men and women decided to form Mothapo Development Organization with the aim of lobbying, organizing and encouraging inventors and innovators in Lesotho in a single voice. The name “Mothapo” means “root” which inspired the founding members on the vision that the root of development stems from creation of new technology and hence new industries.

● To encourage the creation of new industries through commercialization of new technology and inventions;
● To encourage inventions for sustainable economic growth;
● To create employment opportunities through the creation of new markets in both local, regional and international markets with inventive products;
●To protect new inventions through the assistance of inventors in registering patents locally, regionally and internationally, and also registering other intellectual property rights such as trademarks, and related rights.
● To promote the awareness and the significance of protecting intellectual property;
● To improve the standard of living of our people by encouraging and fostering technology innovations and skills transfer.

To create a united innovative Africa, with a beneficial network of all inventors and innovators across the continent.

MDO is affiliated to the African Inventors’ Corporation Organization (AICO) based in Harare, Zimbabwe.

MDO is also applying for affiliation to IFIA, the international body in a bid to seek representation in the international aspect of intellectual property.

Foundation of Inventors and Innovators of Angola (Fii@) aims to carry out, promote, support and sponsor scientific and educational actions to combat absenteeism and school dropout, as well as to encourage and collaborate in events in the field of education, research and updating science in general.
In the light of what has just been transcribed, Fii@’s areas of activity are education, the production of goods, inventions, innovations and also health, science in general.

In order to pursue these objectives, it provides for the development of activities that its organs consider to be most suitable for the achievement of its purposes.

• Granting prizes, scholarships or other support to persons or institutions carrying out scientific research, inventions and innovations;
• Granting subsidies, prizes, scholarships or other support to persons or institutions with a view to increasing school success, improving teaching and learning methods;
• Creating prizes for scientific research, inventions and innovations;
• Creating support in the organization of congresses, conferences and events in general;
• Financial and logistical support for the production of Angolan inventions and innovations.

The great mission of Fii@ – Foundation of Inventors and Innovators of Angola is the growth and development of Angola. Following the guidelines of the Angolan Executive that very clearly establishes the ideas as a great patrimony of the country, Fii@ fully fits within the new and important national dictates.

The vision of Fii@ begins in the basis of the Angolan development. Making dreams REALITIES with a professional work coupled with the various actions is a short, medium and long term vision. Working in partnership with the State and the Private Initiative makes Fii@ see miles and miles away and chart a great path to prosperity.

The Angolan Association of Inventors and Innovators (AAII) is one of the coordinating mechanisms of the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation. It is a nonprofit institution registered, approved and published in the DR – N13 – Series III of January 20, 2014.
Despite being a Non-Governmental organization (NGOs), according to SNCTI, the Ministry of Science and Technology is the Ministerial Department for the Protection of AAII and is responsible to support the training and continuous promotion of researchers, inventors and AAII managers as institution scientific and technological development research.
AAII’s great task is to turn dreams into realities. By themselves the inventors will have a hard time to materialize their inventions. The Angolan Association of Inventors and Innovators brings together specialized companies, partners, employees, supporters, and investors who embody these dreams and generate wealth for the country.

• Contribute to the progress and diffusion of technology bringing together individuals, institutions and companies engaged in the invention and innovation;
• Enhance, defend, encourage and foster the inventive and creative capacity of individuals or groups;

• Promote the dissemination of the problem of innovation especially industrial innovation, to raise awareness and motivate leaders, cadres, researchers and experts; universities, institutes and workshop services;
• honor the image and activity of inventors and independent creators;
• develop a national network of assistance and ongoing training for inventors and creators;
• Promote the development of the creative culture that meets the universal development and humanistic practice of the creative process;
• Defend the rights and legitimate interests of its members;

Inventors and Innovators Association of Zambia aims to become the vehicle for promoting employment and economic growth through assisting (marginalized) inventors and innovators to bring them into the mainstream economy.
IIZA is recognized that invention and innovation is the basis for economic and social progress in general and industrialization in particular and that a need exists in Zambia to organize inventors and innovators to mobilize financial and material resources that will ensure the commercialization of inventions and innovations.

The creation of the Inventors and Innovators Association will inspire many Zambians to recognize and observe the Intellectual Property Rights of inventor and innovators that bring social and economic development.
The other objective envisaged for IIAZ is to help or complement efforts by government agencies mandated to promote innovation and protect Intellectual Property Rights and to raise funds for commercialization of their innovation and inventions.
IIAZ also assists in registering IP rights of inventors and innovators and will have a governing system mandated to carry out the assigned duties as agreed by the general membership.
IIAZ is established on terms and conditions detailed in this constitution for the purpose of promoting the interests and well-being of beneficiaries and that of the Republic of Zambia.

ZAI – Zimbabwe Association of Inventors was founded on 13 October 2001 by a handful of inventors with the support of the Patent Office (now Zimbabwe Intellectual Property Office (ZIPO) – Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs; the Ministry of Industry and Trade; the African Intellectual Property Organisation (ARIPO); the Scientific and Industrial Research Development Centre (SIRDC); the University of Zimbabwe (UZ); the law firm Honey and Blackenberg and BW Kahari Legal Practitioners– all who comprised the IP Expo Trust. The Zimbabwe Association of Inventors – ZAI – now works as a Non-Statutory Supporting Agency of the Ministry of Science and Technology Development (MSTD). It is a member of the International Federation of Inventors Associations (IFIA) whose headquarters is in Geneva, Switzerland and works closely with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a UN specialized Agency on technology based in Switzerland.

To bring together inventors on the continent for purposes of promoting invention and increasing industrialization.

Based in Johannesburg, the Institute of Inventors and Innovators (III) is committed to helping inventors and invention business owners to succeed in today’s rapidly changing marketplace and demanding business environment.
The Institute of Inventors and Innovators offers important information, advice and guidance on all aspects of the invention process which includes IP protection, industrial design, prototyping and manufacture, funding and marketing.
Anyone who has had a good idea and tried to develop it to launch status knows that the Invention Process is a long road. All understand that taking any invention to market is complicated and fraught with barriers to overcome.

The Institute of Inventors and Innovators (III) was established in South Africa in 1974 by Don Pilkington. He envisaged a society of inventors and thinkers cooperating with and supporting each other to solve technical, legal and financial challenges during the process of inventing and creating businesses. Through this association, a number of inventions were developed, patented and commercialized.

Our vision is to be the premier provider of positive, affordable, credible resources to inventors and innovators whose products range across all markets. Further, we envisage the III as a central source of services and information, uniting all invention and innovation entities across our vibrant continent.

Our mission is to do whatever we can to promote Invention and Innovation in South Africa and elsewhere.

The Institute for Inventors and Innovators Resource Centre will be a central hub that will house a variety of information sources. It will provide an enabling environment for the inventor to fully understand the gaps in his/her specific pathway to the market and develop appropriate strategies, as well as providing advice on all aspects, from refining IP database searches to mechanisms to access funding. It will be a primary operational site where various other projects will also be activated. The III has much more work to do, to truly empower South African inventors and entrepreneurs with the tools they need to shape the innovation landscape of the country. That landscape is set to be diverse, vibrant and colorful.
